Levin Residence is a project for a single individual consisting of a renovation of an 1,000 square foot apartment in a residential coop building on West End Avenue in Manhattan. The gutted one bedroom apartment was reconfigured with a program including a living room, bedroom, bathroom, study area, dining area, breakfast nook and kitchen. Architecturally, walls were removed and relocated to extend the bathroom, connect the kitchen to the living room, create a study area and redefine the circulation. The interior design includes new walnut flooring, USM, B&B Italia and Troy furnishings, Ingo Maurer, Flos and Artemide lighting, Duravit and Dornbracht bathroom fixtures and a Boffi custom kitchen. A sophisticated audio visual infrastructure and lighting controls ensured that each space received an electronic overlay which could be centrally controlled and modified in time.
